Bookkeeping Services
If you've decided you need a bookkeeper and you're trying to figure out what you actually get for the money - this page is for you. What hits your portal, when it gets there, and what's happening behind the scenes.
The deliverable
Five concrete things, not vague promises.
Every bank and credit card transaction posted to the right account in your chart of accounts. New patterns become rules so they post automatically next month. Anything ambiguous gets queued and asked through the portal - nothing gets guessed at.
Every bank account and credit card tied to its statement. The reconciliation report lives in your portal so you can see the work, not just the result. If something doesn't tie, I dig in until it does and tell you what I found.
Delivered every month, comparable month over month, readable on a phone. If you have a CPA, they get a clean file at year-end with nothing to clean up. If you don't have one yet, I can point you to a few I trust.
1099-eligible vendors flagged through the year so January isn't a fire drill. If you run payroll through Gusto, ADP, or QuickBooks Payroll, I verify it posted correctly. I don't process payroll - I verify the bookkeeping side.
Double Portal handles documents, messages, and your monthly statements. No email attachments, no Dropbox links, no asking which Slack thread had that receipt. One place, searchable, always there.
The monthly rhythm
Same cadence every month, so you always know where your books are.
Throughout the month
Bank and card feeds sync daily. You don't have to do anything. If a transaction needs context I can't figure out (which client? which job?), I'll ask through the portal.
First week of the next month
Working in QBO throughout the month. The clean transactions post automatically off the rules we've built; the unusual ones get reviewed by hand. By the end of week one, your transactions are posted.
Second week
Every bank account and credit card tied to its statement. Discrepancies get tracked down, not papered over. Reconciliation reports land in your portal.
By the 20th
P&L and balance sheet delivered, with a short note on anything worth your attention. You can read them in five minutes.
